WINTER SPORTS IN PORTLAND

We love snuggling up with a warm cup of boozy hot chocolate and a good book, but we also love getting out in the snow and enjoying all that Mt Hood and the nature surrounding Portland have to offer! Here is a list of our favorite winter sports in and around PDX! But before you head off into the snowy mountains...

Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort operates on a special use permit on the Mt. Hood National Forest, offering some of the most spectacular skiing and snowboarding in the Northwest. TIMBERLINE LODGE

Located on Mt Hood, a quick trip from Portland proper will take you to the historic Timberline Lodge. Whether you'd like to ski, snowboard, or hang back and indulge in boozy winter beverages by the fire, Timberline's got you covered. And did you know Timberline's exterior was used in the filming of Stanley Kubrick's horror film The Shining? Hang out at the Day Lodge while your friends and family head out on the slopes, then you can all head back into the city -- it's the best of both worlds in Portland this winter! Ski all day, stay in the city all night.
