How do I get to The Jupiter Original?

Jupiter NEXT is located at 900 E. Burnside St, Portland, Oregon, 97214. The nearest highways are I-84 and I-5. Here is a link to Google Maps for accurate directions from wherever you are located.

Do you have parking?

Yes, we have two options for self-parking. You can park (first-come, first-served) in our outdoor lot for $15 a night. That parking lot is located on the southeast corner of SE 8th and Ankeny, behind the Imago Theatre building, across 8th Ave from Jupiter Original. You can also park in our underground lot (first-come, first-served) for $25 per night. The entrance to the underground garage is located on SE 8th St, underneath Jupiter Original. Please check in at Jupiter NEXT before you attempt to park so that we may give you a permit to leave in your vehicle. Park at your own risk. Jupiter is not responsible for any damages or theft to vehicles or vehicle contents.

Where do we check in?

All hotel guests will check in at the lobby of Jupiter NEXT (900 E Burnside St, Portland, OR 97214) before heading upstairs to their rooms at Jupiter NEXT or across the street to the Jupiter Original (800 E Burnside St), Portland, OR 97214).

What are the differences between The Original and The Next?

Our two properties, Jupiter Original and Jupiter NEXT, are right next door to each other.

‍The Jupiter Original is a 2-story 1960s converted motor lodge. The Original's lively atmosphere comes with mandatory in-the-middle-of-it-all vibes. We encourage inclusivity of the non-conforming, the alternative, and everyone in between, as we set the stage for self-expression and an opportunity for you to be you.

Jupiter NEXT is a newly-built 6-story structure with interior hallways. The NEXT brings elevated, urban vibes with intentional minimalism in rooms and public spaces. We want you to feel like you can join when you want to, and escape whenever you need. Our upscale setting complements our lobby bar/restaurant Hey Love's lush atmosphere. Our relaxed service allows us to be here when you need us, but your stay is exactly that: yours.

Do you have a bar/restaurants?

Yes! On the Jupiter NEXT property, we have tropical, warm-weather-inspired Hey Love.

WHat is your pet policy?

No more than two pets may be housed in any guest room without prior approval of management. A non-refundable pet fee of $45 will be charged for each guest room. Service animals for people with disabilities will be exempt of these charges. Emotional Support Animals are subject to the fee. Included with the pet fee is a Jupiter Next pet bandana, a Jupiter Next bag holder and the use of two pet bowls during your stay. The bowls are to stay in the rooms and will be subject to a fee if removed.

The Jupiter Hotel reserves the right to refuse housing of any pet at its sole discretion for any reason. Outside the guest room, pets must be kept on a leash or in a carrier at all times and owners must clean up after their pet. Cat owners must provide their own litter and litter boxes for their pet. If a complaint is received about a noisy or aggressive pet, the owner will be contacted. If the problem persists the owner will be asked to remove the pet from the property and may be held responsible for any complaints received from other guests due to the pet. The Jupiter Hotel is not responsible for unattended pets that may exit the guest room entry door. We reserve the right to refuse housekeeping services for those guest rooms with an unattended pet not confined to a carrier. Guests will be held responsible for any damage caused by or liability arising from his/her pet to any person, the guest room or any other area of the hotel and will be charged a minimum fee of $150. Payment of the pet fee does not relieve the guest of this responsibility.

What other amenities are available through the front desk?

Ask our front desk about getting the following items delivered to your room: iron, luggage rack, extra towels and linens, pack n' plays, and clothing steamers.

How loud is it at Jupiter original?

At Jupiter Original, you're in the center of it all. We ask that all guests follow our calm hours and keep the noise levels to a minimum during those times. Otherwise, rock on before you knock out!

Why stay on Portland's eastside instead of downtown?

Portland is a unique city; instead of a large nightlife scene happening downtown, our city comes alive on the Eastside after dark. We're centrally located directly across from downtown Portland, so if there are things you want to do during the day, or a concert/play/sporting event happening on the Westside (downtown), you can hop on a bus, rent a Nike bike, or even walk across the Burnside Bridge and back before resting your head. We highly recommend checking out events, bars, and restaurants in our neighborhood. You can find lots of walkable spots on our Eat & Drink page, as well as Events and Discounts in our 'hood.
