CATHEDRAL PARK JAZZ FESTIVAL | JULY 16-18, 2021

Okay, okay, okay... We're not technically starting off with water, but if you like the idea of going to the water but not getting in it, a music fest by the river might be your best option! Now in its 41st year, the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is the longest running jazz and blues festival west of the Mississippi River and features R&B, Blues, and as many styles of jazz as you can think of. Enjoy the beauty of the St. Johns Bridge as you listen to incredible music artists from around the region.

PORTLANDIA MERMAID PARADE | JULY 31, 2021

Portland has forever been a place that celebrates the weird, wild and creativity communities which find their homes here. The Portlandia Mermaid Parade is a free grassroots artistic event celebrating our community connection to Portland's rivers and port history as well as celebrating all things mermaid and water myth related. And, it ends in a SWIM!

Float down the Clackamas River with 200 of your spookiest friends. Sun-blocking parasols not required but highly recommended.

CUSTOM, DIY RIVER FLOATS (AKA YOU PLAN IT!)

Whether you want to swim, float, or just hang out on the beach, we’ve got rivers a plenty to wet your whistle. Looking to fill an afternoon with the most relaxing activity Portland has to offer? Check out these river drops from Thrillist. BYOF: We recommend you bring your own single- or double-lined floats made specifically for rivers. Pool floats will pop, and let’s be honest… a popped float is NOT cute!
