SPIRIT OF HALLOWEENTOWN | September 18-October 31, 2021

Complete with costume contests, trick-or-treating through St. Helens’ Old Town District, haunted town tours and scarecrows galore, the celebration of the creepiest day of the year extends into every weekend in October, starting with the lighting of the Great Pumpkin in the city plaza. Plus, did you know St Helens was the site of filming for not only the Spirit of Halloweentown movie, but also Twilight? Paint on that glitter lotion, and get your vampire-loving selves out there!

Looking for a family-friendly Halloween activity for the animal-lovers in your life? The Oregon Zoo provides a fun and safe setting for this Halloween tradition, where costumed kids learn about healthy habitats for wildlife in a fun scavenger hunt throughout the zoo. Treat bags are available at the end of the event for purchase (just $3), so fun is guaranteed to be had by all! Besides, who doesn't want to see a lemur absolutely rip into a jack-o'lantern?? We know we do!

PORTLAND ODDITIES & CURIOSITIES EXPO | October 16, 2021

For lovers of the strange and unusual, enjoy Portland's Oddities and Curiosities Expo. This annual event features local and national vendors with items such as taxidermy, wet and dry preserved specimens, antiques, jewelry made from bones, skulls and insects, original artwork, skulls and bones, curiosities, and all around creepy, strange and bizarre items. Plus, there will be sideshow performances and live human suspension all throughout the day. What more could you want from an event during Spooky Season???
